In this video base work I perform the historic archetypes of Black femininity, the mammy, Jezebel, and sapphire, repeatedly. I perform in clothes from my wardrobe parts of myself that connected to these archetypes to the camera. I then slow them down until, they as video, fail perform as video. Instead as choppy frame by frame animation of a body that has already due to historic precedence been caricatured.
